It is in the morning, on the Grass Planet.

The Palace Square is overflowing with animals.

Apart from the eight tracks, every corner of the square is taken by crowds of animals.

Even the sky is crowded.

Eagles circle overhead, itching to join the race.

 

 

”Grass Planet Sports Meeting – Race along the Planet is about to begin!”

The host’s sweet voice resounds in the square.

The cheerful music, the passionate atmosphere, it seems the whole planet is burning.

 

 

“The one who rides an animal to pass the finish line in the shortest time will be the winner.”

The host explains while the racers hold their breath and wait for the command.

I glance over every racer and a racing strategy forms in my mind.

With a loud sound of the starter pistol, the game begins.

The loud sound ignites the eight energetic racers whose powerful feet stamp on the ground of the planet.

The yelling of animals, the cheering of the audience and the howling of racers all merge into a resounding song of life.

The whole planet is burning!

 

 

The first few minutes are noisy and chaotic.

Every racer is seeking the chance to hinder others.

For me, I only want to win.

Soon, I grab a little lamb and ride on it.

But, I find the lamb is running slower than I.

At this speed, it is very likely for me to rank among the three slowest racers. 

 

 

Why not change to a different animal? I think to myself and look around.

Those running on the ground are definitely slower than those flying on the sky!

There was an eagle hovering before me before the race started. Right! I’ll take it.

Holding firm on the mount with my left hand, I hold my right hand towards the sky with fingers arched into a claw.

But, a good time never lasts long. There’s a time limit for each mount.

I’m back to the ground soon.

 

 

At that time, I grab a wild boar.

Compared with the little lamb, this wild boar has a fast speed. Great!

A racer nearby is angry at my surpassing him and fires to hinder me.

I’m forced to turn back. Wait and see, you dumbhead.

 

 

While I’m turning around, I fire unhurriedly at the racer and distance between us becomes long again.

Of course, I’ll never miss the target with my super shooting ability.

Now the racer is far behind me.

Humph! You want to challenge me? Go back and train yourself first!

 

 

I go back to racing at once.

There’s a golden slope ahead. Beyond the slope is the finish line.

100 meters left. Go!

 

 

With a jump, I land at the other side of the slope.

Fireworks and cheering resound through the sky.

I know I win the race.

The finish line is ahead.

 

 

The Planet Palace Square is boiling.

Animals all come to congratulate me.

My name is shown boldly on the board.

A carnival begins.
